We were talking on the weekend about this JT thing and this came up.

In a general who do you think is your most important player on the pitch.

It matters not who gets the Captains armband, as England is a team of captains, so to speak.

The most important 'striker' in my humble opinion, is Heskey. Although he's not a great goalscorer himself, and certain people will crucify me for saying it, there's no doubt England look more likely to score more goals when he is on the pitch.

Top defender for me is Jonathon Woodgate, which is hard for me to say as I really do hate the cunt. As a player, I hate him slightly less than Terry or Ferdinand, and I think he's been underused by England.

The goalie? David James, assuming that Scott Loach has not gone on loan to Tottenham and set the Premiership alight with superhuman saves and a record number of consecutive shutouts.
